Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) EDL Project and Euro Disneyland Commemorative Passport
Euro Disney was a big venture for Imagineering. Started in 1988 with negotiations and park design both at WDI in Glendale and in their counterparts in France. It covered every facet of our industry (scripting and blue sky, architecture, blueprinting, model making, accounting, legal, governmental relations, custodial, health) and that was even before they broke ground in Marne-la-Vallee. Then it was Europe's turn to play (environmental, earthmovers, cement mixers, plumbing, electrical, iron workers, interpreters). And as they were playing, we were working (audio animatronics, decorating, music, graphics) And then they were orchestrating (publicity, hiring, training, translating, gardening). This project employed thousands of people on two continents for 3 years.
So when Euro Disney Opening Day approached it was a Big Thing. Company wide events took place, a huge celebratory cake (in the shape of EDL's Sleeping Beauty's Castle.) There were talks and videos and exhibits and music and stories and prizes.
------------------------------------------------------------
'Be the first on your block to go to Euro Disneyland!' The Pre-opening tickets were colorful and big...also collectible.
This package includes WDI Cast Member celebration materials as well as a few Disneyland Paris (name changed in 1994) work items. It also includes the 1992 Limited Edition Commemorative Euro Disneyland Passport and its promotion piece.
(The donor started at Imagineering on the EDL project duplicating blueprints for Euro Disneyland.)

Additional information on items
The Flyer was sent to WDI employees and was a Euro Disneyland pre-opening promotion for the commemorative ticket below.
The Ticket Euro Disneyland Passeport Commemoratif
Rendez-vous avec la magie 1992 was a 'edition limitee A 014734' collectible and is unused. This is a Ticket and Cover folder with envelope. It was promoted to WDI first, then general public in Disney Stores, Disneyana shop and by mail order. The stub of this ticket could be exchanged for an entry pass into Euro Disneyland. [Somewhat exclusive.]
The Drawing Card was given to WDI employees. The drawing was at the EDL Opening celebration party.
The WDI Commemorative Medallion Euro Disney Resort Paris
Metal reversible coin in folding card with hole for display, included a
Thank you letter from Marty Sklar.
This was awarded to every WDI employee.
This is copy of Blueprint of layout for EDL Nautilus.
This blueprint was used for documentation purposes on the Nautilus walkthrough that was mocked up in WDI's Tujunga facility. WDI photo-documented in both work light and show light. The scenes were color-coded for easier differentiation. The little hand-lettered 'v' were the spot and direction the Hasselblad was facing for the photos.
This Nomenclature List for Disneyland Paris is in English and French.
Naming things is very precise at the parks. Often times it is a legal name and becomes a trademark of the location. Spelling and marks have to be exact. WDI used these to help write their documentation. This particular one was replaced by a later revision.
