You could easily describe Ken Druse as one of the most prominent garden photographers and garden book authors in the US. I think he's now written 20 garden books, some have received notable national awards. Ken Druse received the 2016 Media Awards Gold Medal of Achievement for writing – book, presented by GWA: The Association for Garden Communicators.

Druse received the Gold Medal of Achievement for his book entitled The New Shade Garden: Creating a Lush Oasis in the Age of Climate Change.

This national award recognizes individuals and companies who achieve the highest levels of talent and professionalism in garden communications. The 2016 competition had more than 250 entries in 56 categories.
