The highest bidder wins two tickets to one classical concert in the 2016/2017 season at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland, located at 2025 Broadway.  A celebrated regional symphony, the Oakland Symphony proudly offers a combination of musical excellence, educational programs, and community service.  With the goal of making classical music accessible to individuals who might never before have heard symphonic music, the Oakland Symphony presents live professional and collaborative artistic performances to diverse audiences in Oakland and East Bay communities.

Friday, November 18, 2016, 8 pm


Violinist Kelly Hall-Tompkins will perform the U.S. premiere of Siegfried Matthus’ new violin concerto, Dream of a Summer Night, along with John Williams’ Theme from Schindler’s List and a selection from Fiddler on the Roof. The program also includes Joachim Raff’s rarely performed Symphony No. 3 and the Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra, back from their performing tour of Cuba, will join the Symphony for George Gershwin’s Cuban Overture


Friday, February 24, 2017, 8 pm


Oakland Symphony’s commitment to the diverse community in Oakland continues in our “Notes from” series. This February’s concert will introduce audiences to the music and dance of Native American culture. The concert will include Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 9 among other selections.


Friday, March 31, 2017, 8 pm


Soprano Hope Briggs will be guest soloist for Anton Bruckner’s Te Deum alongside the Oakland Symphony Chorus. The evening’s program will also include winner of Vote for Music contest Antonín DvoÅÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ?ák’s Symphony No. 9 From the New World and nationally-recognized Berkeley-born composer Gabriela Frank’s Concertino.


Friday, May 19, 2017, 8 pm


The American Masterworks series returns to close out the season with the exuberant music from Frank Loesser’s iconic musical, Guys and Dolls with Oakland Symphony Chorus.
