The owner, Taro, grew up in Japan where his grandfather was involved with the business of Japanese traditional paper. He was captivated by the way a piece of paper could transform into a beautiful work of art. As an adult, Taro dedicated many trips between the U.S. and Japan to figuring out how to share the joy of origami with people all around the world. This led him to invent pre-printed sheets of graphic origami. He has had many origami books published, and his workshops and parties became so popular that he opened his first studio in Brooklyn, NY.
