Frederick Douglass is an iconic historical figure whose noble qualities are visible in the lives of four major Biblical characters: Like Joseph, who was sold into slavery by his brothers and later became second-in-command of Egypt.
Douglass was born into slavery and served as an advisor to five US presidents. Like Moses, who liberated the Israelites from Egypt by confronting Pharaoh. Douglass fought to liberate blacks from slavery by agitating President Lincoln. Like Paul, who wrote the majority of the New Testament and composed letters that changed the world. Douglass authored three books and penned thousands of articles, speeches, and editorials that transformed the nature of politics in America.
Like Jesus, who forgave those who nailed Him to the cross and yes He died for the salvation of humanity. Douglass forgave his slave masters and dedicated his life for the liberation of all people. For these reasons and more, Douglass’ political and social principles can heal our nation. Frederick Douglass—the role model for the next generation—the “Quintessential Conservative”.

Never realized that Douglass is really an unofficial founding father. He was truly a self made man, but, also, truly a good Christian man. His views and insights regarding the founding of our nation and it's Constitution are renovate today as much if not more than when our nation was founded. K. Carl Smith simply gives his testimony of what happened to him to open his mind to voting his values. As we all should do.

"I was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the second oldest of four children—all boys. Raised in a Christian household, my parents taught my brothers and I the importance of strong values, hard work and to pursue the American Dream.
After high school, I attended Alabama A&M University. During my sophomore year, I was awarded a two-year ROTC scholarship. Upon my graduation in 1980, I was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army, ultimately rising to the rank of Major. I served 16 years on active duty in the Adjutant General Corps and I completing both the Airborne and Air Assault Courses.
I’m a best-selling author. My book is called Frederick Douglass Republicans: The Movement to Re-Ignite America’s Passion for Liberty. Along with the book, I wrote a very popular and practical companion guide entitled, Most Asked Challenges—helps conservatives to fine tune their diversity engagement skills.
