The 2012 Cunat Reserve offers the very best fruit was hand selected to a deep, dense and broody reserve Merlot. Bold and luscious aromas of dark raspberry, black cherry and plum are complemented by the oak that imparts spice, cedar, leather, caramel and a hint of vanilla that only becomes richer as the wine opens up. The palate provides expansive flavors of plum, bright cherry fruit and earthy tones that finishes gracefully. Well-integrated supple tannins with nice acidity yields nice weight and affirms the wine will beautifully age for another 10-15 years. 

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon from Howell Mountain conveys aromas of blackberry, blueberry, pie spices, lilac, cocoa, vanilla, soy and dried plums. With flavors of black currant, dark cherry, sage, licorice and blackberry jam, this Cabernet is well-rounded with a nice mid-palate and long finish that balanaces the chalky tannin profile. While it will improve for at least 8-10 years in the cellar, it can be enjoyed today with decanting. Pair with seared steak with mushrooms and onions, roasted duck breast with pecan puree or cheddar, gouda and monterey jack-like cheeses.
