The area, long known for its diversity and nightlife, is now also known as one of the most important culinary destinations in the city. This is ground zero for a home grown and well fed neighborhood food revolution. 

Head west on Market Street and once you cross Dolores, tree lined streets shade Victorian and Edwardian buildings where sidewalk cafes and hidden bistros serve global cuisines for sophisticated palates. Cafe society is alive and well, and the mix of eateries reflects the diversity of the local residents. 

This food and drink tour in the Castro is led Wednesdays and Fridays at 3pm. Allow two to three hours; be prepared to walk some hills. Holidays, excluded, valid until 9/18/17. This is a walking tour and no transportation is provided.
