Northwest furniture maker Kim Kelzer's witty, colorful cabinets and furniture push the boundaries of traditional woodworking, yet are extremely functional, employing traditional materials and methods of construction. "I approach each piece, be it seating or lighting, a hall table or a whole kitchen, with the idea of solving the problem of function first, then how I can make it unique."

Kim has taught at Anderson Ranch Arts Center, California College of the Arts, De Anza College, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Oregon College of Art & Craft, and San Diego State University. Her work is included in many public and private collections including the Art Gallery of Prince Albert in Saskatchewan.
