Description

1 bottle - 2012 Layer Cake Cabernet Sauvignon

Layer Cake is produced by Pure Love Wines, a venture created by Jayson Woodbridge, the owner and renowned winemaker of Napa’s Hundred Acre brand. Layer Cake refers to the soils of his Barossa vineyard. His old grandfather told him that the soils in which the vines lived were a layer cake. If properly made, the wine from these vines was like a delicious cake layered with fruit, mocha and chocolate, with hints of spice and rich, always rich. Never pass up a good Layer Cake. The grapes for this delicious wine are sourced from their volcanic hillside vineyard on Mt. St. Helena and their sandy loam vineyard in the Paso Robles hills. Fermentation and ageing were achieved in French oak that had been aired for 36 months. Bright dark red in color. Aromas of Bing cherries, blackberries, cedar and spice. Rich, complex, concentrated. Soft polished tannins. Deep flavors of plums, expresso, chocolate and black currants. Creamy texture, with a long, lingering finish and aftertaste. A wonderful wine.
