This auction is for one week of the DC Stoddert Soccer Girls' Academy Summer Training.
The Girls' Academy helps develop young female athletes. It provides a wonderful balance between success and challenge with the aim of creating skillful, insightful, and confident players. The Girls' Academy Summer Program is geared toward players who want to improve their skills or take them to the next level. They welcome players who feel that they are behind and players who want to keep their edge.
Karen Kelser, the Girls Technical Director for DC Stoddert Soccer, leads the program. She has a BS in Exercise Science, and holds a current U.S. Soccer Federation National A level Coaching License, USSF National Youth License, KNVB Dutch Youth Coaching Diploma, and the NSCAA Advanced National Coaching License. Karen was the DCSSL Coach of the Year for 2006, and her players have won many awards.
These players will develop these essential skills:
- utilizing proper foot surface for ball mastery and fast footwork
- dribbling and tackling to defend 1v1
- passing and combining with teammates
- receiving and controlling incoming balls on the ground and in the air
- shooting for power and accuracy with the laces
Special Instructions
For girls born in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 (as approved by the director).
Camp to be held at Sidwell Upper School Campus on Wisconsin Avenue, NW.
Pick one week of camp (9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.) from the following dates:
June 12-16
June 19-23
July 17-21
July 24-28
