What is Playback Theater?

It is a Theater that invites audience members to share real life stories, thoughts and feelings and then the Playback ensemble improvise a theatrical scene based on the story using movement, ritual, spoken word and music. Playback Theater actors are trained to listen to the story behind the story and to offer the story back as a gift to audience members and to the community. Playback Theater believes that every persons story has pearls of wisdom to be shared with the community.
