Description

The inspiration for this painting came from a photograph taken of a wild tiger in India. In 2014 I made a series of animal paintings to raise awareness for the need to protect endangered animals in the wild. The series was shown around the country with great reception in Manhattan, Sag Harbor, Denver, and Saint Louis.

This portrait of a wild tiger is a symbol for the responsibility we share as stewards of our environment and natural habitats. The work itself is 5 feet tall and 4 feet wide and is painted in Italian oil paint on museum canvas and comes framed in simple and protective painted wood stripping. Other Tigers from the series of nine paintings happily reside in art collections in Manhattan, Brooklyn, St. Louis, Denver, and Minneapolis. Retail value is $7000
