KIDS BALLET (Ages 6-9)







This class will include the same principles as beginner ballet but at a more advanced level. It will follow a formal ballet class structure with exercises and combinations appropriate to the students age and physical ability. Students will begin with barre work, continue with center work, and finish with exercises traveling across the floor. Emphasis will be placed on learning vital ballet basics, vocabulary, proper alignment and technique, core strength, flexibility, musicality, coordination, and self-confidence. A combination of Vaganova, Cecchetti, and Balanchine methods are used. This class is designed to teach ballet in a fun, positive and encouraging environment


 


Kids Ballet – Saturdays: 10:00am – 11:00am

BEGINNER BALLET (Ages 4-6)



This class will play on a young child’s need for movement and imagination. The students will be guided in creative exercises that will give them a true foundation and deep rooted love for dance. The students will learn coordination, special awareness, flexibility, rhythm, basic ballet fundamentals, vocabulary as well as confidence in a fun and energetic environment. This class will also follow a formal ballet class structure with exercises and combinations appropriate to the student’s age and physical ability. Students will begin with barre work, continue with center work, and finish crossing the floor. Emphasis will be placed on learning vital ballet basics, vocabulary, proper alignment and technique, core strength, flexibility, musicality, coordination, and self-confidence. A combination of Vaganova, Cecchetti, and Balanchine methods are used. Students will also learn about the history of ballet, dancers and composers. This class is designed to teach ballet in a fun, positive and encouraging environment.


Beginner Ballet – Tuesdays:  4:30 – 5:30 PM


 


Ballet shoes are recommended but not required for your free month. Socks or bare feet are temporarily suitable. Please email Melanie at Renaissance before purchasing any shoes, if you wish to do so, as she will recommend a brand and style.
