As Boston’s oldest professional theatre, the Lyric Stage has observed and been a part of a great many changes in the local theatrical scene.  The Lyric Stage was formed in 1974, and started performing in the Community Church on Boylston Street.   Focusing mainly on beloved classics – works by such playwrights O’Neill, Williams, Pinter, Shaw, and O’Casey.
