PS 39's very own Mr O has donated a week of Treasure Chess summer camp, so this summer give your child the gift that lasts a lifetime.

While countless other games are short-lived fads, chess is timeless...and NYC is a chess town! The game of chess requires skills that will benefit your child in school and in life: problem-solving, strategy and critical thinking. Whether your child is beginner or advanced, we will help them on the road to the rating they want, or just to become familiar with the game.

Each day will include 3 hours of chess instruction throughout the day. Emphasis on specific improvement and feedback for each player, to give every player a chance to grow & improve in chess. One-on-one and group instruction, as well as friendly competitions, make up the day, in addition to daily exercise/team-building activities and daily outdoor activities and play (in adjacent Carroll Park and enclosed schoolyard).
