Cowgirl opened its doors in February of 1989. The restaurant was conceived and founded by Sherry Delamarter after a visit to the Cowgirl Hall of Fame Museum in Hereford, Texas. Sherry brought the images, soul, and cooking of the Western cowgirl to New York City and created a warm, Texas-friendly atmosphere, one of the first true Country Western locations in NYC.
