One Week in a Mazatlan Casita

Item Number: 343
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
One-week stay (7 nights) in a lovingly restored home in Old Mazatlan. You'll enjoy the casita with a 1200 sq ft patio that overlooks the city. Just a short pulmonia(fancy golf cart) ride to the beaches and the 'golden zone'. One-level living on the town side of Icebox Hill. Lovely view across the city. Open and spacious, lots of natural light, beautiful, and a charming getaway. The home is centrally located in old Mazatlan. Traditional design blends with contemporary comfort. The restoration of this casa was completed in late 2009. Handmade Talavera tiles decorate the new, rustico kitchen and bath. This home is designed for casual living. Cross ventilation provides cool and refreshing air, and ceiling fans are located throughout the house and every room has air conditioning, as well. There are many personal touches and furnishings in this home that you won't find in most rentals. Located in a quiet, Mexican neighborhood with friendly neighbors and within walking distance of many sites of interest. The beach is only 5 blocks away, as is the main market.
Plazuela Machado is only 10 blocks away. Our neighborhood park, Zaragoza Park, was recently refurbished and can be reached within a 5-minute walk from the house. In the neighborhood, you can have a delicious lunch for less than $2.00 US at the taco cart down the street owned by our neighbors, Chuy and Lorie. In the evening, enjoy the best baked potato you can imagine, served with seasoned and grilled pork, at the potato cart only a few blocks away.
These are authentic local places to eat, but they are so good, and have such a wide-spread reputation, that they have been discovered by North Americans as well as Mazatlecos. Shop at the corner store where you can buy all you'll need for a good meal, or just one aspirin or tomato.
Tortillas, made fresh every day, are available around the corner at our neighborhood tortilleria. In the morning, before venturing out for the day, enjoy your first cup of coffee on the large patio, paved with traditional Saltillo tiles. Or, stroll toward the beach, and you'll find our neighborhood North-American style coffee shop. From the patio of this coffee shop, you will have one of the best views in the city looking out over the water and north toward the Golden Zone.
