Thomas Mangelsen Images of Nature Framed Poster - born of the North Wind

Recognized with the highest honor bestowed on a natural history photographer, Tom Mangelsen was chosen 1994 "Wildlife Photographer of the Year" for his image Born of the North Wind. Competition judge and fellow photographer Frans Lanting praises the image by remarking that "to see one of the greatest wild beasts dwarfed by the immensity of its surroundings is not just a powerful testimony to the survival skills of the polar bear, but a reminder, if we ever needed one, that it is the earth itself which supports every living thing."
