Chenrezig, or Avalokiteshvara, is a bodhisattva who embodies the compassion of all Buddhas. Avalokiteshvara is the bodhisattva who has made a great vow to assist sentient beings in times of difficulty and to postpone their own buddhahood until they have assisted every sentient being in achieving nirvana.  Traditionally in Tibet, tsa tsas were made with clay from the earth, left to harden, and placed on altars, shrines or in other holy places.  This tsa tsa is made with Gypsum Cement.
