Description
Sacred Sounds Yoga is a yoga studio in the Greenwich Village. The inspiration behind the name is three-fold: It refers to pranayama, the art of breath control in yoga; the melodic instruments that are used during the recitation of sutras, mantras or other Buddhist texts, such as the singing bowl (pictured) or wooden fish; and any music that has aided us to become better practitioners of yoga, as a whole. Our goal is to promote the health of mind, body and spirit through love, life, laughter and practice. Our teachers come from an array of different backgrounds, are passionate about their respective practices, and are eager to share their unique experiences. We are dedicated to providing healing experiences for students of all levels.

Unntata Aerial Yoga
Unnata is the Sanskrit word for “elevated,” meaning both elevated in spirit and physically elevated. Using a yoga hammock, students work with gravity to explore, refine and advance traditional yoga postures both in the air and on the ground. Relax and realign the body, center the mind and uplift the spirit! You need a yoga mat for this class. We ask that you wear a shirt with sleeves and long shorts or pants for Unnata® Aerial Yoga to prevent chaffing and preserve our aerial silks. Also, be aware that baggy or loose clothing may get shifted around and out of place, especially when upside down.
