Artist Workshop with Lars Fisk: RELIEF CASTING IN PLASTER

Item Number: 379
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
INSTRUCTIONAL WORKSHOP: RELIEF CASTING IN PLASTER for up to 6 kids and 6 adults.
Sculptor Lars Fisk will conduct a special workshop to teach kids (and parents) the WONDROUS magic of casting plaster into sculptural relief tiles. The class will take place in the artist's Red Hook studio and involve working with found plant matter, clay, and of course, LOTS OF GLEAMING WHITE PLASTER!
Participants can expect the class to run about three hours, along with some exploration in the wild for plants and then... when the dust has settled, to bring home your very own plaster relief tile... MADE WITH YOUR OWN TWO HANDS!
Lars Fisk is a celebrated artist represented by Marlborough Chelsea. He ran the Socrates sculpture park in Long Island City where he held classes for children and their parents. Mr. Fisk is a cunning sculptor who has been making public art for two decades and has been an art director for Phish, the whimsical Vermont jam band, designing their elaborate Bread & Puppet Theater.
