The auction winner and a guest will join Heisman winner Gary Beban (Quarterback, UCLA ‘67) at one of this December’s Heisman Trophy ceremonies - an unforgettable experience for any sports fan and without equal for a football fan.

For more than a century, it has been been given annually to the best college football player in the United States: The Heisman Trophy. One of the most recognizable awards in all of sports, in both name and image, the Heisman has its roots here in New York, where it is presented every December.

As Beban’s guests at a formal, black-tie cocktail reception (banquet to follow) in the ballrooms of the Marriott Marquis Times Square, the winner and guest will mingle with Heisman legends past and present, as well as meet the newly announced 2017 trophy recipient.

The auction winner will also receive, as a token of the night’s events, the autographed football on display here, signed by Beban and more than two dozen other winners. Taken to this year’s banquet, where the winner will have the opportunity to get the signature of this year’s recipient, it will serve as a unique piece of personal history as well as sports history for any collector (or your basic hardcore sports nerd).

The auction winner will also receive the autographed photograph on display, showing Beban in action in the 1965-66 season, in which he would run for two touchdowns on the way to a 14-12 UCLA victory in the Rose Bowl over Michigan State. Beban would win the Heisman in his senior year, edging out USC tailback O.J. Simpson, who went on to win the following season. The 1967 UCLA-USC game, featuring Beban and Simpson, has long been called one of the greatest college football games of all time, with USC winning on Simpson's brilliant 67-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

2017 marks Beban’s 50th anniversary as a Heisman winner. He will be one of the guests of honor at all ceremonies, with various films, speeches and exhibits focused on his life and career.
