Description:  Vermeer has been among my favorite artists since I was very young. Girl With Pearl Earring introduced me to his work, which in turn introduced me to the Dutch Masters, who still influence my work today. For this reason, it's been a singular pleasure to use this iconic painting as inspiration remixed with my own style and technique. The final portrait has been realized in tile largely inspired by Delft Blue pottery, further homage to the origins of the painting.
