Piece Title: Venus di Moderno
(translates as Modern Venus)
Description: My take on Venus di Milo plays on the greek mythology behind Venus' (Aphrodite's) beauty and symbolism. Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of love and pure beauty. I depicted Venus in her statue state and then show areas of the sculpture cracking and breaking away so as to reveal Venus' flesh and natural form. The palette for my piece is rock and light skin tones with a red accent.
