Description
"St. Michael's Mount" off the isle of Cornwall.
Artist's Statement:
Call me Michael Partis, for as long as I remember and having little money and only one particular interest, I would draw whatever caught my fancy. A condition which eventually transformed into oil painting. So whenever I find myself with spare time and in need of adjusting my equilibrium, whenever I am down in the mouth and desire to escape from melancholic premonitions of my final place of rest, I like to paint. That subtle mix of imagination, inhalation, and exasperation. If I find myself in the grip of doing mischief, I quietly take to the brush and lay into the vibrant ooze of oil paint, the vapors of turpentine and linseed. If they but knew it all men in some manner are artists, all are driven to create, to vent their spleen, to express some view of life.
