Do you love Bach? Vivaldi? Handel? Do you love to improvise? Come jam in baroque style with the doctor of the harpsichord: SMS's very own Alexandra Dunbar.
Learn about ornamentation from France and Germany and improvise on a ground bass line. If you are brave, you can even try realizing figured bass symbols! If you are a pianist, bring the baroque pieces you play for a one-on-one lesson on how to play your pieces with a more informed historical style. If you are a non-keyboard instrumentalist, bring your baroque and early classical sonatas to play with harpsichord accompaniment. Experience these pieces just the way the composers would have intended the music to sound.
I have three harpsichords in my studio in Riverdale, NY. My degrees are from Manhattan School of Music and the Juilliard School.
