Special Instructions

This drawing was an illustration for a book of fables called "Fables Tried and True" that Shawn wrote and illustrated in 2001. The medium is cray-pas, ink and pencil on illustration board.


Based in Brooklyn, Shawn has designed scenery throughout the United States and abroad. She is the Executive Director of the ASDS Rep as well as the resident scenic designer for the ASDS Rep since its inception in 1997. Shawn is a full-time faculty member at ASDS teaching Directors, Actors and Playwrights design collaboration.


Shawn attended the prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts for high school. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the School of Visual Arts in New York City where she studied painting and photography. Her masters is from New York University TISCH School of the Arts where she studied Scenic Design and Art Direction.
