Provide One Day of Critical Training

Description
Each year The Seeing Eye welcomes 13 classes of students to campus to be partnered with Seeing Eye dogs. The Seeing Eye instruction program is intense, with students not only receiving instruction on working with a guide dog, but also lessons on caring for a Seeing Eye dog. Twice daily training trips to Morristown (and later during the class, other locations such as New York City, local malls, etc.) are supplemented by lectures, meetings and group discussions to reinforce training, address travel issues and provide information on their rights as guide dog users under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Each class lasts from 18 to 25 days, depending on whether students are returning for replacement guides (and are experienced guide dog handlers), in which case the program is 18 days; or first time students at The Seeing Eye, whose course of instruction lasts 25 days.
Your donation represents one day of critical training between a student and his or her Seeing Eye dog.
