Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo is open seasonally each year, with hours changing as warm summer weather allows more and more of our exotic animals to enjoy Maryland’s outdoor environment.

A full schedule of Shows and Encounters are offered starting mid-April.

Our Shows are fun, lively adventures with lots of opportunities to learn about and touch selected animals.

Encounters are special times when you can get closer to a safe animal, learn inside facts about our big favorites or feed an animal a special snack.

These visits are hosted by trained volunteers, education or animal care staff, giving you a variety of information and viewpoints.
