You'll cherish a hand-painted portrait of a beloved dog (or other animal) by Arkansas artist Janice L. Crummer.

Working from a photograph of your four legged-friend, Crummer will produce an 11" x 14" original oil on canvas. Outstanding draftsmanship and use of color characterize her work. Animal portraits are a specialty and Crummer's portraits have been commissioned from all over the country.

Originally from Southern California, Crummer has been an Arkansas resident since 1983. She shows frequently in the southeast and maintains a home studio in Vilonia, AR. She is a member of the Arkansas Artists Registry.

Crummer's suggestions for photographing your dog:

• Get down to eye level with the dog when taking its picture.

• Take and send several pictures, but please only one animal per photo.

• Comments about the dog's personality are welcome.

• Include any color information not readily seen in the photo, such as odd eye color.

• If the photo is by a professional photographer, you must send a written, signed release form from the photographer allowing the artist to copy the photograph.
