Description

Edition number 9 of 50 from the limited edition In Furious Bloom, an archival pigment print on Canson Edition etching paper, measuring 6.5 x 8.25 inches. It is signed and numbered by the artist. It has been exhibited in Compulsive Beauty, Space 15th, in Seoul, 2010, and in Exhaustive, INKstudio at ART021 fair, Shanghai, 2016.

The image is derived from an earlier work of Jennifer’s of the same name, which was exhibited in Seoul, South Korea in 2010. Chrysanthemums were painted black with mo, Chinese ink, and grew and bloomed over the course of the exhibition. The composition was wild and congested at certain moments and space in places, creating a melody for a lament of love lost. While the plants dressed in black ink bring funerary imagery to mind, they are also a testimony to the perseverance and power of renewal.
