Description

One-of-a-kind, hand crafted modern salt and pepper grinders, made from spalted maple.

These are both functional  and a work of art!  At 16" tall and with their modern aesthetic, they will make a statement on any table or sideboard. I particularly love the juxtaposition of the modern profile with the rustic and natural finish on the spalted maple.  And, of course, there are two different and complementary forms. The one grinder has prominent figure from the spalting whereas the other is more subtle. They have been finished in a food safe blend of Carnuba wax, beeswax and orange oil...so they even smell lovely!

They are made with a top-of-the-line "crush / grind" ceramic mechanism with a 25 year manufacturer's warranty-the best on the market.  You can easily adjust the coarseness of the grind by turning the control knob on the bottom. Each mechanism alone costs $22 and we will include the receipt from Lee Valley Tools.

And best of all, they are so easy to use. To load the pepper or salt, you simply pull off the top portion and pour. We have tested each and they work beautifully.

These were designed and made by Sylvie and John. If you found these in a boutique shop, they would be priced at $450 to $500. We are donating them to the GSE auction to help bring the Mendoza 4 home.
