Created by renowned HGA Master Weaver Lillian Whipple, these hand-woven silk butterflies are mounted on high-quality ivory blank note card with matching envelope. The front of the card has an embossed border and the cards are 4.25" high x 5.5" wide and are suitable for framing. Few of them ever actually get mailed! Make them a special gift for yourself or others. Make lovely wall decorations when framed together or individually!!
About the weaver & process: The motifs are woven in 240/2's silk, which is about the size of hair!! The structure is called "taqueté" and Lillian Whipple is the recognized master of this technique! These are highly collectible and have sold for over $100.00 per card in the past
