MEET MICHELE:  I shoot almost exclusively in natural light and specialize in children & family photography with a few pets, lovers & events thrown into the mix. My style is simple, fun & unposed.

I have been taking pictures for as long as I can remember with whatever camera my parents let me get my hands on. Steve at the Jewel/Osco photo counter definitely had grounds to file a restraining order for the amount of times I would “just check in” on my disposable camera drop-offs.

I was always that girl who shoved her camera in everyone’s faces and who photo-documented her and everyone around her’s every life experience. (Email me for photo documentation of getting my braces put on…Seriously. So pretty. A face only a mother could love. Well, at least she told me she did).

After I left the Walgreens photo counter, I graduated from Miami University (Ohio) in ’04 and received a Master’s Degree in Digital Journalism from Chicago’s Depaul University in ’09.

As a journalist, I have always been very interested in the stories that photographs have told throughout the years. The raw emotion, the truth, the comfort, the beauty, the chaos. All of it.
