Description

This beautiful rug is a Tabriz rug and was made in the city of Tabriz which is a center of master rug weaving in Iran.  It is most likely that a rug this size is on a loom for 4-5 skilled weavers and a rug this size and intricacy would take approximately a year for those 4-5 people to weave.  Weavers rightfully consider themselves artisans.

The rug is semi-antique meaning it is between the years of 50 years and 99 years old. A Persian rug is not considered to be an antique rug until it is 100 years or older.

The design is a traditional center medallion design in the traditional reds, greens,  and blues of Persian rugs.

This rug is 100% hand-knotted and is 100% Wool pile on a cotton foundation.

Rug is 12' 9" by 9' 4".
