Would you like your child to receive some extra help on their music? Learn some practice strategies? Spend a little extra time with an Elemental Music coach?


 


Come get advice and help before your middle school auditions this spring from Mr. Aiello, our Elemental Strings Director of Sinfonia, Cello coach! Play through your audition materials and get feedback from one of the SMMUSD's music teachers about what they are listening for when they hear students.


 


This mentor session is for 5th grade string students currently enrolled in an Elemental Music program.


 


JASON AIELLO is the Director of the Sinfonia Orchestra and a cello coach for Elemental Strings. Jason has taught orchestra at Santa Monica High School since 2006, after graduating with honors from UCLA as the recipient of the Joyce Fahlman Fellowship. While at UCLA, he studied music education with Dr. Frank Heuser, cello with Antonio Lysy, and worked as a cello coach and student teacher at Santa Monica High School. As a guest conductor, Jason has worked with honor orchestras sponsored by CMEA (California Association for Music Education) and SCSBOA (Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association). Currently, he serves on the board of the California Orchestra Directors Association, where his primary responsibilities have included creating and maintaining the CODA website and auditioning junior high and high school cellists for various CODA sponsored honor orchestras.

Special Instructions

This item will be available for pickup at the Elemental Music Concerts on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at the Lincoln Middle School Auditorium, 1501 California Avenue, Santa Monica, CA 90403.


Auction Pickup will take place in the lobby commencing one-half hour before the start of the concert. 


If the item needs to be shipped, the winning bidder is responsible for the additional shipping charges.
