"FU is one of four barrel blends, assembled from the five parcels of wine created each vintage for this ultra premium, individual vineyard Barossa Shiraz program. The R winemakers evaluate all of the barrels blind, so as not to be influenced by preferences for a particular barrel cooperage in the program, or the conclusions from previous tastings of the barrels. With the FU selections, we are looking for wines, which display an open expression. The fruit profile is readily identifiable and the oak overlay is rich with notes of Cedar, Molasses, Smoke, Blackberry jam and minerals." - Chris Ringland, winemaker
