The Wolf Blass Black Label 2009 vintage sees the 37th consecutive release of Black Label, the iconic flagship, and the first ultra-premium wine made by Wolf Blass in 1973.
Wolf ’s aim was to create the finest red blend from the vintage and, 37 vintages later, the sentiment is as true today as it was then.
The nose is described as intense lifted blackcurrant and dark berry fruit layered with underlying notes of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, hints of eucalypt, and complex cedar oak. The palate is rich and full with spicy bramble fruit, blackberry, plums, and integrated cedar and cigar-box oak flavours. The wine shows exceptional complexity, balance and length, opulent yet fine and elegant with a persistence of flavour, seamless texture and supple, velvety tannins.
The Scorpo 2012 Chardonay has been described having a youthful straw appearance, with a tightly wound aroma of nectarine, mandarin, lemon rind and nougat. The refined palate exhibits a focused blend of grapefruit and vanilla spice with a precise, compelling mineral finish.
There is no dancing with the devil over this Margaret River Devil's Lair 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon - you will experience bright cassis, mulberry and violet perfume. Exotic regional cabernet aromas of sandalwood and mashed currants leap from the glass. The palate is supple, seamless and long. Great intensity and focus, framed with fine fruited tannins supported by subtle choc oak tannins. A medium bodied cabernet of great poise. Will cellar more than 15 years.
