Description

Get an exclusive tour of the Glendale Central Library before its Grand Re-Opening in Spring 2017 for 10-20 people!

The Central Library renovation is coming into its home stretch, completing major construction elements in time for our Spring 2017 Grand Re-opening.

The reimagined Central Library will be a public facility like no other in the Region. In addition to these new tools for creativity, another room will be dedicated to cultural remembrance—a mini museum that plans to explore and capture culturally significant events around the world. The all-new auditorium will provide a platform for artistic expression including performance art like dance, music, spoken word, and comedy.

Following the renovation, the public will have access to more high-tech equipment for creativity including 3D scanners and printers, software and equipment for audio recording, precision tools for crafting, high capacity sewing machines, acrylics and paper for color mixing and painting, and software for computer aided design and animation with 10G connectivity. This will enable to public to not only retrieve content, but create new content. People will be able to come to the library to write and record a song, sew a complicated garment, develop a new color scheme, fabricate a product prototype, or bring their 2D artwork to life with animation graphics.

Special Instructions

Tour must take place before April 21. Exact date to be arranged by winner with Director of Libraries' office. Winner will get contact information and Franklin parent can facilitate as needed.
