Description
This stunning bracelet is made in China from the lapis stone. Lapis is a deep blue semi-precious stone that has been prized since antiquity for its intense color.
Lapis beads have been discovered dating back to as early as 7000 BC and were used for the eyebrows, among other features, on the funeral mask of King Tutankhamun. Additionally, the stone has been used by artists in Europe during the Renaissance period to create extraordinarily vibrant blue paint, used on the headscarf in the painting Girl with a Pearl Earring by Vermeer.
This bracelet features two fish swimming alongside one another, which is commonly known to represent wealth in China, as the word for “fish” and “abundance” sound nearly identical. A one of a kind and truly unique bracelet!
