Description
A unique opportunity to learn a new art with a group of friends!
Marie Leo, artist and ceramicist, will lead a two-hour class for a group of four adults exploring the art of hand building in clay pinch pots. Coil techniques and slabs with textures and carvings will be introduced. Each participant will complete two pieces with underglaze. The pieces will be fired at a later date in our kiln and available to pick up and take home.
Marie Leo is an artist and ceramicist, working in clay as a wheel potter, hand builder, and tile painter, with a particular focus in Raku, underglazes and shino glaze surfaces. She is in the permanent collection at the shop at Wave Hill Gardens. Ms. Leo is The Studio School's occupational therapist and ceramics instructor. Artist Website: http://marieceramics.tumblr.com/
Special Instructions
* Donor will contact winners to schedule workshop date.
* This is a group lesson. Maximum number of adults: 4.
* Winning bid buys one (1) seat in this workshop.
* Suggestion: Last year, five Studio mothers bought each one seat, enjoyed getting getting our creative minds onto our hands and into the soft and wet clay, learned from Ms. Leo's extensive expertise, and then had lunch together at a restaurant nearby. We had a great time and got to know one another a bit more, while supporting the school and creating community. THIS YEAR WE WILL ENJOY TAPAS AND WINE!
