About Dr. Valdes:
Vanessa Valdes has over 36 years of clinical experience working with patients with orthopedic and musculoskeletal problems. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy (Honors) from the University of Alberta (Canada). a Masters of Science Degree (with distinction) from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture (TSCA) and a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy (Honors) from Arcadia University . It was at TSCA that Vanessa studied Acupuncture Physical Medicine under its founder Dr. Mark Seem.
Vanessa did post-graduate training in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and Hanoi in acupuncture in 1996 and 1997. She has earned an advanced certification from TSCA Post-Graduate institute in Orthopedics and Physiatric Conditions.
Vanessa joined the faculty of TSCA in 1999. There she developed and teaches courses in Orthopedic Biosciences and Myology and has served as a Clinical Supervisor. She is also a national examiner in the Clean Needle Technique examination.
In 2007, Vanessa began studying Zheng Gu Tui Na (Chinese medical massage) and Qi Gong with Tom Bisio, Frank Butler, and Marshall Wood when these disciplines became part of the curriculum at TSCA. In 2010, Vanessa began teaching Zheng Gu Tui Na classes in New York City and internationally.
Vanessa is proud to be a volunteer with Global Alternative Health Project (GAHP), an organization that exists to serve remote communities in need through the delivery of free, high quality health care.
She is also a PADI-certified SCUBA divemaster and a member of the New York Aquarium Volunteer Dive Team.
