About the Artist:

I am a self-taught artist and revel in portraying African big cats and other animals.  Currently, I work exclusively in graphite pencil but am working on incorporating colored pencil and digital enhancements into my drawings.

Drawing is relatively new to me, as I have never “officially” studied art.  Even though it’s been a somewhat hectic start, I have learned very valuable lessons from my mistakes and continue to learn with each new project.  I have done a few commissions of pets and am honored to continue to get requests.  I’ve named by business “Arte de Vita,” which means Art of Life.  I have not set up a website yet but that will come in time.

I am quite obsessive when I start a new drawing and find myself sometimes drawing well into the morning hours. I put my heart into each drawing and it is important to me that anything I draw be detailed and realistic. 

Endangered species hold a special place in my heart so I make annual donations to our local zoo’s annual fund raiser and to other organizations to help raise money to help these animals.  I am working to find more ways to use my art in this way.
