From Beaks To Barks is a behavior consulting service catering to all species of companion animals. I have been working with animals since March 1990, and in that time I have trained many species, including (but probably not limited to): dogs, cats, parrots, a wide variety of other species of birds, rabbits, ferrets, hamsters, rats, mice, horses, miniature donkeys, pigs, goats, tortoises, leopard geckos, snakes, pygmy octopi, fish, and even praying mantids. I have found that learners of all species are more successful and both mentally and emotionally healthier when we focus on teaching them what we want them to do rather than suppressing (punishing) behaviors we don’t want. This is as true for humans as any other species, so I enjoy teaching humans how to teach their companion animals, too!
