Everyone’s favorite boy, Raju, lived the first 50 years of his life in chains with very little to eat. Raju was rescued by Wildlife SOS in July 2014 from the streets of Uttar Pradesh. Initially shy and weak, it took him a few weeks to familiarize himself with his surroundings and realize that he could roam around freely without any spiked chains around his legs. Raju has gained weight and made new friends at the Elephant Conservation and Care Center, Mathura. He has put on a couple thousand pounds since coming to our facility.
