Description
'Ancient Galleries of Cedar Mesa,' photographs by Dave Manley, Introduction by Benjamin A. Bellorado
Photographer Dave Manley focuses his creative eye on the ancient rock art of Cedar Mesa, as remote a place as you can find in southeastern Utah. The greater Cedar Mesa area has been home to indigenous people for thousands of years. Dave's crisp images show the breadth of the rock art found here, from isolated and simplistic to elaboratly carved and/or painted panels. Softcover, 10"x10", 106 pages.
Cedar Mesa, now part of the Bears Ears National Monument, shelters spectacular rock art and ancient cliff dwellings of the Ancestral Pueblo people who called this home more than 800 years ago. This area is sacred to native peoples and enjoyed by an ever-increasing number of visitors.
Canyonlands Natural History Association (CNHA) has supported the parks and public lands of southeastern Utah for over forty years. Our funding comes from memberships, private donations, and sales from our retail outlets: twenty percent of each sale funds the educational and resource management programs of the three federal agencies we support, as well as our own educational and scientific research programs.
