Enjoy a varied and entertaining program of classical songs and arias, presented in your home by Anne-Louise Klaus, soprano, and Alix Pollack, piano.


Concert length will be 20-30 minutes.


Anne-Louise Klaus has graced the operatic stage in roles such as Pamina in Intermezzo’s production of Die Zauberflöte, Despina in Così fan tutte with the NY Opera Studio, and Lucy in The Telephone with Opera By the Bay. She was one of the lead soloists in New England Light Opera’s By Strauss! Production and recorded the title role of Peg March in The Secret of Success by Boston composer Jeff Flaster. Ms. Klaus is active as a recitalist, particularly of Finnish song. She has recently appeared in recital in Tampere, Espoo, and Elimäki, Finland. On the concert stage, she has most notably performed Bach’s Cantata 140 with the Barokkiyhtye Storia Orchestra in Finland, Haydn’s Missa in tempore belli with the Boston Boy Choir and appeared as soloist in works by Sibelius, Rachmaninoff, and Villa-Lobos with the Blacksburg Community Strings in Blacksburg, VA. She maintains a private voice studio in Belmont and is mother to two children in the Belmont schools.


Alix Pollack was a longtime elementary music teacher for the Belmont Public Schools. She is active as a vocal accompanist and piano teacher. She is the Suzuki accompanist at the Powers Music School. Alix holds a Master's Degree in Music Theory from the New England Conservatory where she was on the faculty, and a Bachelor's Degree in Music from the University of California, Berkeley. She has lectured on classical music listening in the elementary classroom at the Boston Conservatory and taught at the Young Artists Vocal Program at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. On a sabbatical year from teaching, she worked as a liaison between the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Chelsea Public Schools. As a teacher at the Burbank School, Alix was the grateful recipient of a grant from the FBE titled Eurhythmics: Using Movement to Explore Musical Concepts.

  • Concert length will be 20-30 minutes.

  • Must have a piano in good condition and be able to make space available for a brief rehearsal sometime before the event.

  • Date is by mutual agreement, subject to availability.

  • While requests are welcome, the artists will determine the final program.
