Description
Whether for a party, a quiet night in, or an intimate dinner party, these four bottles of wine will make great additions to your wine collection!
Included:
- 2013 J. WILKES CHANDA RESERVE PINOT NOIR: Chanda’s Pinot Noir Reserve is lively and delicious from start to finish, absolutely classic Central Coast character showing both the elegance, fog, cool winds and sandy maritime soils of the Santa Maria Valley and Monterey growing areas. Throw a dart at any menu in the county and this wine will likely match the dish perfectly. From flaky white fish with a bit of tomato or mushroom in the recipe, light to strong artisanal cheeses, comfort food to starred Michelin cuisine, this will match it all.
- 2014 J. WILKES SMV PINOT BLANC: The Pinot Blanc is enticing and seductive, as you swirl your glass be prepared to be overcome by Fuji apple, lime zest, nectarine flesh, orange blossoms. Faint hint of saline minerality. Aromatics are bright, alluring, complex and primary. Summer in a glass. It has great balance, peach skin, nectarine flesh, white flower, minerality and broad mouthfeel, solid crispness, attack and cut (bright, mouth-cleansing acidity). No need to age this wine with so much deliciousness and youthful verve. But expect some honey, slate/mineral and hazelnut to emerge in 3-7 years. May go longer in a proper cellar for those that prefer complexity and conversation to youthful beauty.
- 2013 MAURITSON DRY CREEK VALLEY ZINFANDEL: High-toned berry fruit jumps out of the glass of the 2013 Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel. Notes of cinnamon, baking spice and espresso bean add complexity to the hedonistic fruit. The entry is soft and lush, exhibiting flavors of rich oak and blackberry cobbler. The mouthfeel is seamless from start to finish, indicative of the perfectly integrated tannin and acid.
- 2015 THE FORAGER PINOT NOIR, SONOMA COAST: Bright red. Aromas of black raspberry and dried rose, with a touch of earthiness coming up with air. Tightly wound red berry and bitter cherry flavors slowly unfold and show a bit of pepper. Aeration brings out sweetness and depth, along with a note of cola. Closes with good spicy cut and slightly firm tannins that give grip.
