In keeping with their Ecosystem Unit, Room 8 is making "ecosystem themed" trivets for your kitchen counter.  Each child has chosen his/her own scene to depict (arctic, desert, deciduous forest, etc) and have thoughtfully illustrated animals & plant life that would be in that environment.  These gems are priceless!  The trivets are made from tile, have a square cork backing, and have several layers of modgepodge and a final coat of spray to ensure they can be used for a long time.
