Target Audience: MS/US Students
The quintessential Northern California experience for four lucky students to "get totally stoked!" Whether they be gremmies, groms (young/beginners) or can rip like Bodie (experienced), dudes (boys) or wahines (girls) you can treat your surfer and three friends to surfing lessons and a gourmet BBQ at Stinson Beach with HRS Asst. Athletic Director John Miottel.
Whether the day brings mushy ankle-slappers (poor conditions) or clean, pumping A-frames (great conditions) we will have a great time at the beach.
This day-long adventure includes a 3-hour surf lesson with a certified instructor either through Chicks Rip Adventures or Stinson Beach Surf and Kayak, followed by warm showers and lunch.
Wetsuits and boards will be provided. Use of tennis courts, plus beach combing, boogie boarding and kayaking/canoeing in the lagoon is included. A surf slang seminar will also be included, at your request!
Special Instructions
Participants must be at least Level 5 swimmers: able to swim 50 yards proficiently using basic strokes, able to tread water for 5 minutes, and have a basic understanding of water safety.
At least 4 weeks advance notice required; subject to conditions and availability. Transportation from the East Bay can be provided by Coach Miottel with prior notice.
Date of experience in late August or early September 2017, to be determined by mutual arrangement.
The hours of the experience will be roughly 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
